Heal The Warriors

OXYMED is providing free Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for "immediate returning war veterans" suffering the effects of TBI, PTSD, Shock Blast & Concussion Syndrome.

OXYMED Australia is offering free HBO for immediate returning war veterans suffering the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), Shock Blast and Post Concussions Syndrome.  Other soldiers are presenting with Lyme related 'tick borne' and chronic autoimmune illness.

We are committed to assisting our Aussie War Vets and hopeful of other interstate HBO facilities coming on-board to support this initiative.

  • OXYMED is not a registered charity and receives NO government funding or third party support. This program cannot be sustained without support. Your assistance will ensure that this initiative gains public awareness, partnering together to change the way the Australian Defence treats those that serve this great country

Cerebral Malaria

Fiji & Papua New Guinea - 'to establish HBO as an adjunctive care for children suffering the catastrophic effects of cerebral malaria. It is our vision that mobile shipping containers housing small multiplace chambers can be specifically located via truck or helicopter into remote regions to assist brain injured children in PNG'.

Fiji & Papua New Guinea - 'to establish HBO as an adjunctive care for children & adults suffering the effects of AIDS. It is our vision that mobile shipping containers housing small multiplace chambers can be specifically located via truck or helicopter into remote regions to assist communities impacted by the devastating effects of AIDS'.

Alcohol & Drug Rehabilitation - Indigenous Health - Central and Northern Australia - 'to establish HBO as an adjunctive care for individuals suffering the catastrophic brain effects of drug and alcohol addiction. It is our vision that mobile shipping containers housing small multiplace chambers can be specifically located into remote communities.'

ESKO Bionics - personal mobility exoskeleton.

Robotic Elliptical Trainer - a cost effective version of the Lokomat.

OXYMED Australia with Vision for other specialized clinics across Australia

With the dawn of the 21st century the promise of robotics assisting in daily lives has never been greater. The medical field especially has truly begun to see the benefits robotics can bring to patients and their ability to recover. The promise unlocked by robotic therapies has the ability to revolutionize rehabilitative medicine.

OXYMED has been the first and only center in Australia using Robotically Assisted LOKOMAT combined with Hyperbaric Oxygenation and other cutting edge strategies focused on outcomes. It is our mission to continue to support the use of robotic assisted devices providing active rehabilitation for those living with disability.

NeuroRecovery "Centres of Excellence" with focus on Repair and Restoration

The final frontier in the treatment of complex brain, spinal cord and neurovascular injury is focused on repair and functional restoration.

Thinking outside of the therapeutic box will observe the emergence of specific combination therapies that will ultimately impact the lives of those with complex disability.

What Are Some Of These Combinations?

  • Hyperbaric Oxygenation (HBOT) increases Oxygen availability diminishing the cascade effects of Hypoxic Induced Apoptosis; HBOT mobilizes the patients' own target specific neural stem cells (CD34+) whilst promoting a fertile neurovascular platform (neural & vascular growth factors) within the damaged and surrounding areas. HBOT inhibits inflammatory cascades including Tumor Necrosis Factor and pro inflammatory cytokines.

  • Evidence supports that spinal cord and brain cell lesions can be bridged using transplanted tissues and patient derived bridging devices. In addition the use of patient derived autologous stem cells primed with neurotrophic growth factors can promote axonal sprouting, activation of idling and non-functional neurons..

  • Intensive robotic training is required to activate dormant non functional and idling neural reflexes.

  • ESKO™ is a wearable bionic exoskeleton suit which enables individuals with any amount of lower extremity weakness to stand up and walk over ground with a natural, full weight bearing, reciprocal gait. Walking is achieved by the user’s weight shifts to activate sensors in the device which initiate steps. Battery-powered motors drive the legs, replacing deficient neuromuscular function.

  • Patients undertaking OXYMED NeuroRecovery Protocols will have greater opportunity to salvage back what is damaged, promote functional change and experience a better quality of life!

OXYMED Australia

OXYMED Melbourne is the first of a series of facilities to be established throughout Australia.

We are seeking partners in this process.

  • Neuro-Robotic Therapies are uncharted territories from traditional government funding models. We are actively seeking government direction and support to ensure funding models for patients attending. In addition we have engaged the services of Australian Public Affairs and various media groups to assist our endeavors.

  • OXYMED is seeking partners and volunteers – those with corporate financial skills to assist in gaining Medicare and Third Party funding. Many patients attend from interstate and we are endeavoring to establish OXYMED centers in each and every state. Medicare funding is crucial to this objective. Establishment costs exceed AUD$1.5 million for each center simply to provide a minimum of 2-Hyperbaric Chambers and 1-LOKOMAT (adult and pediatric) notwithstanding additional infrastructure expenses including staff and leasing requirements.

  • We need practical support and every supportive idea is most welcome. In addition we seek volunteer support – there are many in the community that have appropriate skills that may elect to support OXYMED in a practical ‘down to earth’ manner.

If you would like to discuss further your thoughts and ideas – please do not hesitate to contact us.
